Should Men be allowed to have more than one wife?

"A man having four wives?! Rediculous!!!"
This statement is one of the most common allegations stated by the
Non-Muslims as well as many so-called 'Modern' Muslims against Islam.
According to them, Polygyny is an injustice for the women . Is it
true? Is Islam the religion to allow this practice? Let's analyze the
religious scriptures and logical reasons behind it.
Does Quran allow it only? :
Infact, Qur'an is the only religious book on the face of the earth
which has the says that, "Marry only one."!!! The Qur'an says "...
Mary women of your choice two, three or four. But if you fear that,
you cannot deal justly, then MARRY ONLY ONE....'' (4:3).

 That means,
Quran allowing to have more than wife , if the husband can deal
justly. No religious book even the Bible, Ramayana, Mahabharata etc.
prohibits Men to have more than one wife.

If you read the Bible, it is in 2 Samuel 5:13, 1 Chronicles 3:1-9 that
David (Pbuh) had several wives and concubines.
1 kings 11:3 Solomon (pbuh) had 700 wives and 300 concubines. The old
testament doesn't prohibit Men to have more than one wife. Rabbi
Gershom ben Judah in the 11th century prohibited polygamy in Judaism.
Jesus (pbuh) war born and grew up in a Jew community. But in New
testament there isn't a single verse condemning this practice.
The church in Rome prohibited polygamy in order to conform greco-Roman
culture that prescribed only one legal wife while allowing concubinage
and prostitution.(Ibid p.17).
It's also not prohibited in Hinduism. If you read the 'Ramayan', you
will see that, 'Dasaratha' the father of 'Rama' had three wives.

It is stated in 'Mahabharata' in Anushasana parva section no. 15 that,
Shree krishna had about 16,000 wives!! If Shree Krishna whom many
hindus worship can have so many wives, why can't Muslims have only
four wives?!!
LOGICAL REASONS:
There are many people who rely upon logic and scientific rather than
religious scripture. For them, we have to prove through scientific
facts and logical reasons. What is the reason behind this limited
polygyny? First of all it must clarified that, having two/three/four
wives is optional. Not compulsory. It is very simple. Naturally, both
men and women are born in equal proportion. But medical science tells
us, that the Female body can prevent more diseases than the male. For
this reason, more male children die than the female. Again when they
grow up, because of accidents, war or alcoholism more male die as
compared to the female. That's why, according to U.N. statistics
division in U.S.A. alone, there are about 4.2 million more women as
compared to men.
In U.K. Alone, There are about 1.1 million more female as compared to male.
In Germany alone, there are about 1.6 million more female as compared to male.
In Japan alone, there are about 3.3 million more female as compared to male.
There are some third world countries like India, where the female are
less than male. It's reason is female Infanticide and feoticide.
In a BBC documantary film "Let her die" shown in a programme
"Assignments" the statistics of female infanticide was given there by
Emetic Buchanan. According to there statistics, everyday more than
3000 feotuses are being aborted in India, on being identified that
they are female. That means every year more than 1 million feotuses
are being aborted in India on being identified that they are female.
It is very common in Tamil nadu and Rajasthan. According to Tamil nadu
Government Hospital, out of every 10 female children are born 4 are
put to death. For this reasons, there are 29 million more male as
compared to the female. If this heinous act is stopped after some
years or decades in India, the number of female will be more as
compared to the male.
That means, in Most of the countries as well as on the earth, there
are more female as compared to the male. That means, If one man
marries only one woman, many women will never find there husband. In
USA more than 4.2 million women will remain virgin. In UK more than
1.1 million women will remain virgin. In Germany more than 1.6 million
women will never find any husband. Biologically no woman can be
celibate throughout her life. So if my sister or your sister becomes
one of those unfortunate women, who didn't find their husbands, then
she has only two options, to marry a man who is already married and
lead a life with dignity or to become a public property! I know this
word "Public property" is very harsh word. But I don't know softer
word than this one.

NOW IT IS YOUR CHOICE, WHETHER YOU WILL ALLOW MEN TO HAVE MORE THAN ONE OR NOT.
