Many non-muslims as well as muslims have alegetions against Islam on
HIJAB. They say that "Islam is a ruthlesse religion. It subjugates
women by keeping them under VEIL ( HIJAB) " and etc. etc....
Normally when the speakers speak about Hijab, they speak about the
Hijab of women. But Quran speaks about the Hijab of the men first!!
Allah says " Say to the believing men, to lower their gaze and guard
their modesty." (24:30)
After that, Quran says " Say to the believing women to lower their
gaze and guard their modesty and not to show off their adornment
except only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils all over
their blosoms..."
(24:31). Their are 6 criterias of HIJAB.
1. Men will cover their body from navel to knee and women will cover
all over their body except their face and the palms of hands
2) The dress can't be transperant
3) The cloths can't be close fitting.
4) The cloths can't be so glamourus that they attract the opposite sex.
5) The cloths of the opposite sex can't be worn
6) The cloths shouldn't resemble the cloths of the unbelievers.
In that verse (24:31), there is a list of people whom she can show off
her beauty. The cause of this law is also given in the Quran. Quran
says " O prophet, tell thy wives, daughters and believing women to
cast their outer garment above persons, so that they will be known and
not molasted. Allah is oft forgiving most merciful."(33:59)
That means it's for the protection of the women. I give an example.
Today many of our sisters are suffering from molastation. Suppose two
beautiful twin young women are walking across the streets of New york.
One is dressed following Hijab while the another is wearing western
dress. And suppose some vagabonds are sitting by the street to molast
the girls. What do you think? Who will be molasted? The western
dressed one! It's a practical law. According to the FBI report 1996,
in every 32 second 1 women is raped in USA. For this reason, rape has
become a common issue their. Islam has a law that if a person rapes a
woman, he will be faced death penalty. Many People say, "death
penalty?! In this 21st century! Islam is a Barbaric religion." If you
see the American law that, their rapists go to jail. But according to
their statistics 95% of the jailed rapists again rape after coming out
of jail. So I ask you if USA applies the shariah law, that every
People will follow Hijab that they will lower their gaze ,guard their
modesty and the women will cover their full body except their hands
and face and after that, when a person will rape he will face death
penalty then what will be the situatition of the rate of rape in that
country? Will it increase, remain the same or decrease? It will
decrease!! It is the practical law!
For these reasons,
HIJAB IS NOT FOR SUBJUGATION, IT IS FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE WOMEN.
